Derry or Londonderry (both can be used) is a county in Northern Ireland, and is one of the most northern counties in the island of Ireland. Derry is also part of the province of Ulster. Derry has a population of approximately 213,000 and its main city is Derry City although for a long period the main county town was Coleraine, home to the main campus of the University of Ulster.

The name of the county has been debated for a long time and has proved over the years to be a source of consternation. The main difference is that, the nationalist/catholic community refer to it as Derry and the unionist/protestant community refer to it as Londonderry.
